Circuito El Molar north of Madrid is a private, members-only ground - that point comes before all the others, because turning up on spec and paying at the gate does not work here; if you want to ride, arrange it with the operator first. The directory lists it as a wide layout with climbs and descents on mixed ground, open from 08:00 to 20:00. Access is easy: a short compacted stretch off the motorway, then a generous parking area with room for trailers and vans. In 2015 the track staged a round of the junior world championship. Where there are climbs and descents, it pays to think about the lap backwards. The descent that gives you time is the one you exit cleanly, not the one you brake latest into. What goes wrong most often on the jump faces: the bike kicks and bucks instead of taking off. Top of our cause list is rear rebound - it returns too fast and throws the back end up at you; slow it down.
