The Cassel ground lies on the D218 towards Dunkirk, on Mont Cassel - one of the highest points in French Flanders - and covers around four hectares. It is run by the Adrenaline Moto-Club under president Rudy Potisek; nobody rides here without an FFM licence. Riding is on Wednesday from 13:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 09:00 to 12:30, and the day rate is 15 euros. Motorcycles only are admitted, no quads and no sidecars. Do not expect comfort: no snack bar, no toilets, no wash area. And since the club runs the place itself, the rule here is the one that applies everywhere in France - phone before you travel. A natural course on a hill means corners with no berm to lean on. Those are the test: you ride them with your eyes, your body and the throttle, not with the brake. What goes wrong most often doing it: the front washes and pushes wide in the flat corner. Top of our cause list is a fork that is too firm and riding high, so it gets no front bite - soften the compression a little and it starts biting again.
