ECW Enduro Strecke

Behind the ECW enduro track stands Enduroclub Weissenburg, a club of over 270 members that has been active in southern Middle Franconia for some forty years and, alongside its own training ground, runs a club championship with several enduro tests. Neither surface nor track length is documented in our record; what is established is the elevation of a good 520 metres above sea level - upland, not flatland. Important for planning: this is club operation, not a pay-and-ride site with a till at the gate. If you want to ride as a guest, clear it with the club beforehand. The club explicitly promotes bringing newcomers in through courses, advice and rider tuition - and that is the way in, rather than turning up on spec. The ECW is also known for its licence-free, family-friendly competitions, most recently under the name X-Challenge, though those run at the Offroadpark Langenaltheim and not on this site. And plan the trip around the weather, not the calendar. At this elevation the rain of the preceding days decides whether an enduro day is fun or a mud fight. Asking the club costs nothing and may save you the whole drive.
