Tackling rock gardens and root sections
Enduro · intermediate · body-position
Stand up in the attack position: weight on the pegs, knees gripping the bike, elbows up and relaxed. Let the bike move and deflect underneath you while your upper body stays calm - a death grip on the bars turns every edge into a deflection. Look several metres ahead and commit to a line; if you stare at the front wheel you'll always react too late. Carry a steady, slightly positive throttle so the suspension stays in the supple middle of its travel and the front wheel skims over the edges instead of knifing into them. The simple rule: light hands, heavy feet. Momentum keeps you straight, so pick a line you can flow through rather than stopping and dabbing.
A starting point to verify on the bike - not a safety guarantee. Change one thing at a time and check on track.
