Snake Creek MX sits on Staytonville Road in Harrington, Delaware. The operator - listed for contact simply as Vinny - calls it the only motocross track in Delaware, keeps it open year round and describes 17 acres of track that is maintained daily by several experienced riders with their own grooming equipment and extended with new features week by week. Motocross Track Guide dates the facility to 1993, lists a new layout with many new jumps and a reverse-direction variant, plus a very beginner-friendly kids track. The same directory gives Friday through Monday as the open days and 35 dollars a day for non-members; practice is allowed, racing is not held there. On 17 acres the layout stays compact by necessity: plenty of direction changes, little room between the jumps, and the bike has to hold a line rather than run it wide. If it will not follow you through the tight turns and pushes past the apex, top of our cause list is too little rear ride height, which makes the steering lazy. Raising the rear or dropping the front sharpens the turn-in.
