Li Chiazzi near Ruffano in the Salento is, at 1200 metres, one of the shorter tracks in the south - the riding is on hard dirt, the operator is Moto Club Ruffano, and it is category 3 with FMI approval. Opening hours are published nowhere; if you drive here, you phone first. On site there is a bar, but no shower, no power and no floodlights. A short lap means you see the same corner very often. That is the opportunity - pick two corners and work on them instead of reinventing the whole track every lap. After twenty minutes you know every bump here, and from then on only the quality of how you hit them counts. What is most likely to spoil your day on this hardpack: the front feels vague and finds no grip. Right at the top of our cause list is front tyre pressure - too much air shrinks the contact patch, so take some out.
