Roncone - Le Gere

The Le Gere track lies near Roncone in the Trentino valley Valle del Chiese and is run by the local Moto Club Roncone. The mxcenter.it track directory lists 1,300 metres of length, ground made of earth and gravel, category 3 and an FMI homologation. The season is limited: open from April to November, but then daily from 9 am to 6 pm. On site there is a bar, cold and hot showers, 220 V sockets and a minicross area; there are no floodlights. The directory's standard note applies here too - published times can change and a call before you travel is worthwhile, all the more so at a venue that closes for the winter. On our record this is a technical layout with off-camber sections, that is corners falling away sideways where the front wheel finds no wall to lean against. That is exactly where the front tends to tuck mid-corner, and top of our cause list for it is not the suspension but your position on the bike: sitting too far back or dropping your elbow takes load off the front. Slide forward, weight the outside peg and keep your elbow up.
