Founded in 1956, more than 200 members, three disciplines - enduro, motocross and historic motorsport: MSC Dahlen e.V. im ADAC is a long-established club in northern Saxony, not a weekend venture. Riding happens at the Auf dem Burgberg site in 04774 Dahlen: 1800 metres, steep corners, long straights. The club describes the ground as sandy mixed soil. Practice runs from April to October, Wednesday 17:00 to 19:30 and Saturday 14:00 to 19:30, for members and guest riders alike. Membership costs 50 euros a year and requires you to be 18; there is no separate children's track, but quads and sidecars are allowed alongside motocross and enduro bikes. The mix of long straights and tight, steep corners is harder than it sounds: you arrive carrying speed at a place where you have to get rid of nearly all of it. Practise the transition, not the straight. On technical ground riders lose it in the same place: the engine stalls in the tight section. First item on our cause list is a dragging clutch or a light flywheel - a flywheel weight or a properly sorted clutch pack removes the basis for it.
